This week I am back with a quick Procreate colour tip for you!

If you go off palette with your colour choices, don’t forget to make a note of the colour in case you want to use it again later.

If you go off palette with your colour choices, don’t forget to make a note of the colour in case you want to use it again later.

This especially applies if you’ve used it as a texture because it can be hard to colour pick the exact shade again if you didn’t use it at full opacity!

If you have space on your current palette, just add them in there or if you’ve run out of space you could start a new one.

If you don’t want to have to keep switching between 2 palettes while you’re working, you could add a new layer to your illustration and make a note of your colours on it by drawing a small flat blob of each colour on there as you go.

Doing it this way is especially useful if you will be taking your illustration into another piece of software later.

If you want to learn an easy way to get your procreate palettes into Photoshop and Illustrator then check out this post.
