I’ve come up with a super quick way to fill textured shapes in Procreate that doesn’t rely on having to get the threshold just right, or trace around them afterwards! My method uses duplicated layers and a gaussian blur to allow you to adjust your selection before you fill the gaps.

Textured brushes are fun to use in Procreate! But not so fun when you want to fill a shape you’ve drawn with a textured brush. It’s often hard to get the threshold settings just right so that the whole shape is filled.

We’re often left with that annoying halo gap around the edge which we have to trace around. This can get pretty tedious if you’re working on a pattern and have a whole layer of motifs to fill!

I’ve previously shared my workaround for this. If you use Photoshop where you can set up an action to fill them with one click. But I also wanted to figure out a way of doing it all in Procreate as I know not everyone used Photoshop.

So in this quick video you can learn how to easily fill a whole layer of motifs in Procreate! Easy peasy and no more edge tracing required!!
