Let’s make a broken stripes pattern in Procreate!
Have you ever wanted to create seamless geometric patterns in Procreate but weren’t sure where to start? Or maybe you think vector software like Illustrator is the only way to get clean, crisp lines? Well, I’ve got good news for you! In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create a bold, modern broken stripe pattern—all in Procreate, and without even picking up your Apple Pencil! (Although I can’t help but use it out of habit, you could totally make this whole pattern with your finger taps!)

This technique is perfect for beginners because it relies on simple shapes, snapping tools, and a little bit of math(don’t worry, I’ve done all the calculations for you!). It’s also a great way to explore color and layout variations without the complexity of hand-drawing motifs.
You’ll need a 3600px square canvas, 300 DPI and the initial rectangle should be 1800px x 300px.
Not only is this method easy, but it also works beautifully for creating wallpapers, fabric prints, or digital backgrounds. And if you’re planning to upload your patterns to Spoonflower, I’ve got you covered with the ideal canvas size for a seamless repeat.
If you love playing with geometric designs in Procreate, this tutorial will unlock endless pattern possibilities. Let’s dive in and start creating! 🎨✨

*non-dectructive
In digital art, non-destructive editing means
making changes to your artwork without permanently altering the original pixel data, allowing you to undo, modify, or remove edits at any time, preserving quality and flexibility through techniques like layers, masks, and adjustment layers. It’s like editing on transparent sheets stacked on your original, so you can always see or change what’s underneath.
