2024 Floral Drawing Challenge: 52 Weeks of Florals

Announcing a new Floral Drawing Challenge for 2024! Following on from how much fun we all had with #committedtocreate2023 I wanted to come up with something just as fun for 2024. I know a lot of you really like the 1 drawing per week aspect of the challenge, so I know that was something I wanted to bring into 2024 with us. I also wanted to keep with the idea of groups of prompts that could become mini collections.

A year long theme for 2024

I also spotted that a lot of the floral prompts for last year were some of the most popular and as you know I LOVE drawing florals, so I came up with the idea of a floral art challenge for 2024! I have loved seeing some of the 30 days of florals challenges on Instagram, especially when they introduce us to lots of different flowers from around the world, some of which we’ve never heard of!

So with that in mind, here is my 2024 floral drawing challenge:

Every month I’ll be publishing a list of prompts for the coming month on my Instagram on the last Saturday of the month. You can also get them a week earlier in my monthly newsletter.

We’ll visit a different region of the world every month and explore the native flowers there. I had a tonne of fun researching and planning out all the different areas and the amazing flowers you can find all around the world!

There are no real “rules” with this challenge except to have fun and stay creative! You can dip in and out whenever you like and post whenever you like. Don’t forget to share a screenshot of the prompts with your image and tag me so I can share your all your beautiful florals in my stories! Use whatever medium you like whether that’s digital or tactile art. You can draw, letter, pattern and interpret the prompts in any way you like as long as you have fun doing it!

In January, we are starting in my home country, the UK and exploring some native UK flowers.
