Do you want to learn how to resize pattern tiles for Spoonflower so they have the correct width and resolution without any white lines? Look no further – in this video, I will teach you the techniques you need to know in Adobe Photoshop to get the job done! From understanding the basics of resizing to optimising the resolution and settings, this video will give you the skills you need to resize your tiles with no white gaps or seams.
Although you can do some resizing on spoonflower in the design studio, sometimes it’s nice to get really specific and set the exact size that you want something to be. Or you may have a 300ppi file which exceeds the 40mb upload limit and you want to reduce dimensions and resolution to get the file size down.
But did you know that changing the image size in Photoshop can create gaps and seams around your tile, which you won’t be able to see until you order a sample?
In this short video I’m going to show you how to resize your tile with the resample settings that I use. Then, I’ll show you a way you can bring your seams in from the edges to check for any gaps that might appear after resizing. But most importantly, I’m going to show you how you can fix them and never have and gaps after resizing again!
