How does Linear Burn Work?

It’s not too different from multiply, in that it gives a darker effect. It does it by decreasing the brightness of your base colour based on the value of the blend colour. (Value is just a fancy word for “lightness” by the way!)

I prefer using this blend mode instead of multiply for darkening things because I think it gives a more vibrant and clean looking effect.
